The Christmas Tag

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF WINTER!

What is the best way to start December on the blog? Do the Christmas Tag! Sending a huge thank you and a hug to Abigail from www.accordingtoabi.co.uk for tagging me :) x

You can check out her post by clicking here.

Favourite Thing About Christmas?

Christmas is probably celebrated everywhere by everyone. Doesn't matter if religious or not, people still go to see and spend a quality time together with their families at that festive period. And it is probably my most favourite part about it! Despite the fact one year is 365 days, I think I might spend less than twenty days visiting and saying hello to different family members, so it is nice to know that Christmas will reunite us again.

Favourite Christmas Movie/s?

Just throwing it out there I'm more into Christmas animated films, though I do watch normal ones every now and then. Here is the list of my choices:

Home Alone
Arthur Christmas
Snow Buddies
The Search For Santa Paws

If you are a huge dog person as I am, go and watch two last ones. THOSE PUPPIES ARE ADORABLE!!!1!1 PUPPIES FOR EVERYOne. oh well, let's move on...

Real Tree Or Fake Tree?

Me and my parents always buy real tree. To be honest, I kinda don't like fake plants at all whether it is a tiny cactus or Christmas tree.

Giving Presents Or Receiving Them?

Even though receiving presents sounds more than just lovely, I rather prefer giving presents. Literally can't handle the awkwardness of opening presents in front of people!

Do you open your presents Christmas morning or evening?

Well, see the problem is that in the country where I live we have separete day for exchanging gifts, but I still do it in the morning.

What tops your tree?

A simple blue star with a bit of gold sparkles.

As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked but never received?

First one is a dog (wasn't planning on turning this post into dog chat :D ). Still asking for one, still not allowed. Second one was meeting Belle from Beauty And The Beast... Don't even ask :D

Handmade Christmas cards or bought?

I suck at DIY, so bought cards all the way!

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Mmmm, I think the answer is no or it is just my memory of a gold fish.

Who I'm tagging:

See you soon

15 Things Before 2015 Ends

Lately all posts here were mostly beauty related, so I though I would take a step back and have just a chilled Friday writing a list of goals/challenges/general things that I want to achieve until 2016 comes.

I can't say 2015 was the worst or the best time, however, I am willing to end this year on a happy positive note. Maybe it will also inspire some of you to come up with your personal December challenge, who knows!

1. Less procrastinating

Oh my God, you won't even believe what a big follower of procrastination I am. I will probably explain it later.

Trying hard to be funny :D. I am in the weirdest mood ever when writing this post, please, bear with me!

2. Wake up with only positive thoughts

I am not a morning person aka don't talk to me before 9am. Everything annoys me at that part of a day and I feel like punching a wall or something similar. Once in a while this mood stays with me during the entire day and that's when I sincerely hate life.

Therefore I want to start my mornings with positive energy. The first thing I need to tell myself in the morning is it is going to be good day and bad luck is going to avoid me. It definitely will be so if you believe!

3. Drink more water

We all know how important water is for us and our bodies, yet do we drink enough of it? I always carry a bottle of water around with me and still manage to forget about that.

4. Clear out the wardrobe

Let's pretend the inspiration doesn't come from a cheesy quote which says 'New Year New Me'. Nonetheless I hope to say goodbye to many of my clothes that I know I will never going to wear. I am planning to donate everything to charities as there are many people who actually need them.

5. Spend more time with family and friends

It might sound pretty ridiculous, but I feel like I spend a very little time with people who mean world to me. I belive, you should spend quaility time with loved ones. Most of us usually forget to show how much we appreciate our friends and family, don't we?

6. Going on a little adventures on my own

On a completely opposite side, I challenge myself to go to public places with me and only me. I am so so bad at this that sometimes I can't go to the shops all alone because I feel uncomfortable, shy and... just not right.

A short while ago I went to the cinema by myself. As soon as other spotted that I didn't have anyone to keep me company, they started giving me these 'sorry' looks. I was like, what? What is so wrong about it? Afterward, I obviously have developed meh attitude towards doing such kinda things.

7. Do daily exercising

Firstly, working out helps me to reduce stress. Secondly, it makes me feel better about myself. Thirdly, as well as drinking water, a little bit of sport is also very benefitial for our health.

8. Read more blogs

I don't mean I barely visit any, but I used to check out blogs more regulary and leave lots of comments. I think it can easily become a part of my daily routine again!

9. Join Twitter chats

Same applies to Twitter chats. I remember enjoying talking with many other different bloggers almost every evening and I really really miss it.

10. Buy NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Well, that is on a side of randomness in the list, thought I can hear Copenhagen calling my name and persuading me to finally make a purchase.

11. Plan blog posts in advance

I do my best to stay organized, schedule posts, yet I know I can pay even bigger attention to blogging. To be honest, I am not 100% happy with the content either, so I am setting myself a goal to work on it and brainstorm better ideas.

12. Grow nails

Oops, I am becoming obsessed with doing nails. As strange as it sounds I also prefer them to be slightly long and I hope to grow them by the end of 2015. Have no idea how successfully it will be going because I am clumsy enough to always break nails on both of my middle fingers. Awkward coincidence.

13. Normalize sleeping schedule

Every evening I tell myself I am going to go to bed earlier and it never happens. I sleep for about 5-6 hours a day which can be absolutely normal for some people, however, I feel and look a lot better when I have up to 9 hours sleep. I need to build a new habbit of putting my phone away and going to bed at 10pm or even 10.30pm, both would be great!

14. Finish school term with high grades

As lame as it is, I just hope my efforts will be appreciated. I know grades don’t define everything blah blah blah, but I worked to get them.

15. Smile more often

That will always be my number one preference. World’s beauty and biggest happiness hides in the smallest things and we pass by without noticing it.

Have you got any goals left to achieve before 2016?

Photo #1

Yes, that is just a plane in the sky. I associates planes with traveling, freedom and changes. How cool it would be to save up some money, quit your town, buy a plane ticket, never come back and start a new endless adventure? Definitely on the bucket list!

Photo #2

Speaking about traveling, this picture I took about three years ago in Budapest when me, my best friend and few of our classmates went for on a one-week trip there. No parents, just one teacher. I mean, it is still cool right? Since then I understood that fancy hotel room and good food play not as important role as a great people around you.

Photo #3

Balloons, huh?

I remember that day as it was only yesterday. Me and my dad were running around local shops to find couple of blue balloons, instead there were only pink ones. Anyway, we made it, yay, and the next minute my family were rushing to the hospital to meet my cousin's son for the first time. God, I cried like a bitch.

See, I don't have any siblings and my cousin is the only child in her family too. Despite of ten years difference, we always have been very close. I know that if I need to talk about something, I can call her any time, so she can. Long story short, she means a lot to me.

Have no idea why, but I feel like she is still 21, even though it was her 27th birthday in April. Time goes so crazily fast!

Oh and I am a proud Godmother :)

Photo #4

Football! There is no better or rather exciting experience than watching watching the game at a stadium. Especially if a team you like is playing! I love how people different age, sex, nationality, etc. unite to cheer for their favourite team. In case you are wondering I am a loud fan and sometimes find it extremely awkward.

However, I prefer watching football than playing it.

Photo #5

Trees covered in snow means only one thing. WINTER! Okay, to be honest, I do not like it as a season, but I admire winter holidays. Everybody is so happy, family dinner, Christmas, New Year,.. Should I also add sales haha?

Another thing what makes me happy in winter is skiing. It just refreshes my mind perfectly. I hate ski boots, though. They are so heavy and uncomfortable.

Photo #6

Yesterday at 10pm I went to the supermarket to buy ice cream. Addicted? No, not at all!

Yeah, I can say it makes me happy.

Photo #7

I have kind of a long story for this one. Yet I will do my best to shorten it.

We all have those low moments when it seems like your world is now only in black&white colours. Whenever I feel so, I need a time to spend on my own. It can be anything - watching crappy drama film, listening to sad music that makes you feel even worse, lying in bed all day or going for a walk.

As that was on my summer holidays, I decided to lean towards the last option. So, I had been wandering around neighborhoods to the point when I lost. Just had no clue where I was.

Great, Yana! I thought not to worry my parents yet and try to find anything familiar, so it would give me the idea how far I was from the town center.

Then I saw this. Hakuna Matata signature on boat. That was like the answer to all of my inner battles. It is okay to be sad. It is okay to cry sometimes. But life keeps going, so let it rule the situation. Sadness, as well as happiness, doesn't last forever. You wouldn't be able to appreciate the beauty of a sunrise if you didn't went through the complete darkness. So, relax, friends, Hakuna Matata and good times are coming.

Photo #8

No thanks, I won't be finishing this post on a deep note! As you can tell, 8th photo is for lolz. But seriously, though. Lush Tea Tree Water helps to clear up my skin, in such wise it makes me a happy girl too :)

Carmex

Why Carmex Is On My List Of All Time Essentials

If you look on my makeup collection, you'll definitely say I'm lipsticks/lipliners obsessed person. I absolutely adore having a pop of colour or nice nude shade on my lips. Is it even possible to leave the house without applying lippy? HELL NO!

Whatever said, lip balms are what make lips beautiful and atractive. Usually lots of girls , me as well suffer from dry, chapped skin there. Sometimes there are days when I can't use anything but balm because of my terrible condition. That's so gross and makes me doing only one activity - staying home or covering my mouse with scarf if the weather is not very hot. Surely this is not the way of solving a problem.

I can't exactly count and name every single used product, desperately dozen of them haven't helped at all.

Last winter when I was introduced by my aunt to Carmex. Again I knew a lot about it from YouTube and blogs, but hadn't have a clue what it actually is.

Long story short, Carmex is a brand that makes great lip balms to help people fight with chapped or dry lips. Now, I believe, they have even skin care line with creams and lotions.

When product is just applied, you get tender pinches on the lips as icy snow began to melt on your skin when you got back inside the cozy and warm house. Although to be honest, at the first time I felt so much pain that I wanted immediately to throw this balm away! (God Bless, I have not done it).

About a week after usage, my lips have become softer, fuller and healthier. I simply could not stop enthusing them. From then it doesn't matter for me if lipstick is with moisturizing effect or not. Yay!

I really really like the smell of this balms, by the way. On other hand, there are some people who hate it. Yes, the scent is a little bit extraodinary&medical, however in this case I would not recommend buying classic, but with additional flavor one.

Overall, considering all my experience, I would say that Carmex is the best of all the lips care. What great is, you can select balm of the preferable type - squeezable lip gloss, tiny jar of lip cream, lipstick and others. Also a big plus is that most of them have SPF and your lips will be protected not only from dryness, but from the sun rays as well. Moreover the Carmex price is not high at all, so the brand is affordable for every customer.

What's your lip savior? I would absolutely enjoy to read about it in the comments below!

Catch up with you later, girls x

Christmas shopping

YSL Tangy Mandarine

Good day beauties!

Have I told you yet winter is my favourite time of the year to do shopping? Especially December can be a good month to spend the money for gifts for your family/friends as well as buy some goodies for yourself. HELLO how is it possible to leave stores empty-handed when you see lots of sales and offers!

So to clear the situation, yes, I have already spent ridiculous amount of money, but I kinda don’t feel very sorry for that. As I’ve tweeted recently, I A)completed my beauty-wishlist 2014 and B)bought some nice gifts for my closest people.

Whilst looking for present for my Mum in one of makeup shops I couldn’t calmly pass the Yves Saint Laurent. I mean, it’s became a big thing in beauty industry over past few years and lots of people want to buy particular makeup products from this brand.

Long story short, I really (like, really really) wanted to own one of the YSL lipsticks. Understandable the price of those is super high for such students as I am because my finances, as my Granny says, are singing romances. Maybe it sounds obtusely but in my opinion few good-quality pricey products are better than tons of cheap ones. So I decided to break the piggy bank, tighten my belt and go and buy one.

Ladies and Gentlemen, here it is - Yves Saint Laurent Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm Crystal Color “Tangy Mandarine”.

Don’t tell me that when shopping you have never had feeling like something was made to be yours. Yeah, you can think ‘Well, I’ll go in few other shops and then return if didn’t find anything better’. However after that thing you won’t pay much attention on anything else – you just need to get “your” product. Same I had with this lippy. I’d made swatches of lots of others lipstick but none of them caught my eye and heart that much.

See, I was doubting when looked on Tangy Mandarine for the first time. God bless you, that nice shop assistant had made me to do the swatch! On the packaging colour is shown deep red, then from the first look it seems coraly orange and, finally, appears differently on the lips. It just makes my face pop. There is nothing very bright or eye-catch note about this lipstick but I absolutely love how it looks on me. It’s divine.

Should I only tell you how soft and magical Volupte Sheer Candy feels on the lips? The finish of it is incredible. It’s buttery but not sticky at the same time.

Now let’s talk about design of the packaging. Honestly, it’s a little bit heavy for the lipstick. Not super heavy but I can give The Heaviest Lipstick In My Makeup Collection Award to the Mandarine. Mine has silver colour not gold as usually. I think it still looks gorgeous! One more thing. One more weird thing. I absolutely love the sound of the lipstick being capped up. It’s better than orchestra for me :D

Does it worth the hype? Does it worth every single penny of the price? My answers are certainly yes and yes.

Share in the comments below some of your favourite lip products! I would like to read about them :)

Christmas

Christmas TAG

Hello everyone xoxo

Few days ago I was tagged by Hana from http://rimmelsmudge.blogspot.co.uk to do Christmas tag. I am happy to answer all the questions as I'm getting excited about this holiday and everything related to it.

What is your favourite Christmas movie?

Definitely Home Alone! I remember watching it every Christmas since my early age. Home Alone is such a funny film! My cheeks always hurt from laughing while watching this movie.

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

I live in Ukraine and we do not give gifts each others on Christmas.

On the 19th of December we have St.Nicholas Day, when according to the legend, Nicholas arrives in his sleigh and presents to all, adults and children, the gifts they asked for. So, I hope to open my presents in the morning of the 19th!

Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

Last year me, my mum and dad went to the USA to visit our relatives during all the holidays. So we celebrated Christmas and New Year there.

I remember, on the Christmas Eve, me and my aunt decided to build a snowman. But our masterpiece looked like creepy creature from horror movie. Lol! Moreover, in few days weather had changed to warmer and all the snow melted. However our creepy man still greeted us everyday in the garden! Isn't weird?

Favourite Christmas gift?

I get excited about every gift presented to me so I can't highlight the special one.

Favourite Christmas scent?

La Petite Rode Noire by Guerlain. I know, it's not that Christmassy and stuff, but the scent of the perfume associates for me with winter and holidays!

Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Yep, me and my mum always make dumplings on Christmas. Again, it's more Ukrainian tradition and can sound unclear for you :)

What tops your tree?

Blue star, which my mum always puts because me and dad are quite clumsy and can destroy our tree in few seconds :D

As a kid, what was one crazy gift you asked for but never received?

I asked for a dog. Still want it. Still waiting for it. Still hoping to get it.

What's the best part of Christmas for you?

Okay, okay, okay, it's ridiculously simple and typical but I think the best part of Christmas is chance to see your family members. We don't spend big amount of time together during the year so it's always nice to spend this holiday with them.

I also decided to tag three people but you can join tag as well! But don't forget to send me a link :)

Makeup Bag: Winter Edition

Who does not like to have a look inside of someone makeup bag? I definitely do!

For me winter associates with nice nude or pink lips, a little bit of eyeliner or eye pencil and neutral eyeshadows. However I also like putting glittery eyeshadows on festive days :)

Lancome Definicils Mascara

If you've never tried mascara made by Lancome, you're living life in vain. What it does with eyelashes cannot be expressed by words! Effect: G O R G E O U S. There is no big volume afterwards, however you have to agree lashes look unbelievable with Definicils on. They are long, thick and charming. Another plus: it never runs or flakes.

( I could make Definicils vs. Hypnose review. If you would like to see it on my blog just let me now :) )

Clinique Eyeshadow Duo & Blusher Palettes

They are my favourite things on this planet. As I have already said I usually take those palettes whilst travelling because they are so handy!

Also I love using blushes from this little cuties - Pink Blush and New Clover.

Their formula is absolutely soft and silky. Blushes have nice natural-looking finish and I especially like New Clover as it compliments my skin tone and eye colour a lot.

Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Pink So Chic

I can probably call it the best lippy in my collection. Pink So Chic has gorgeous rich berry colour and matte finish. It stays on the lips during all day and you only will be able to take it off by using makeup remover. AMAZING!

Read full review on Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencils here.

L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine Stain 183 Pink Resistance

To my mind, pink lip glosses were created for winter. At any time of the year I do not use them sas often as now!

One of my favs is L'Oreal Pink Resistance. Actually I don't have a clue why it's called lip stain because I think it is more lip gloss.

It has lovely finish with the same colour as my lips. This gloss doesn't have sticky and watery texture so your hair won't be getting stuck to the lips.

Isadora Black Eyeliner

If you're with me for a long period of time, you will know that eyeliner is the nightmare for me. However I really like how it looks so I decided to try my best doing this kind of makeup.

My choice fell on Isadora Colorful Eyeliner in 10 Black was to. It is easy to use and puts on nicely.

As soon as I make any successes, I'll let you know :D

Of course it is not a full list of makeup products I use in winter yet these are my sort of essentials.

What are your must-haves during winter time? Love you :)

advices

Winter Skincare Routine

As seasons change as my skincare routine changes. I noticed that my skin needs different products for this cold season because only in winter it gets extremely dry and sensitive while in general my skin is normal/oily on some zones. So I have to say goodbye for the biggest amount of my skincare products and great some of them that I hardly ever use.

Okay, let's start with moisturizing! I use only my Neosporin Eczema Essential Daily Moisturizer during winter. It is steroid and fragrance free. I enjoy using this product because of few aspects. Firstly, it has lovely light honey smell. Secondly, this moisturizer quickly sink in to the skin and you don't have to walk around for ages with sticky face(which I hate a lot!). Finally, it actually restores dry, itchy skin! Last year I had serious skin irritation / problems due to coldness and wind, but luckily I was advised to try Neosporin daily moisturizer. Since then it has become my winter skincare essential.

Next product is also by Neosporin. It is Daily Body Wash. It can be used all over your body but I prefer using it only on my face. Again this product is fragrance and soap free.

Usually such cleansers dry my skin so I need to apply tons of moisturizers afterwards. However Neosporin Body Wash is gentle yet well removes all of the dirt as well as excess oil. It keeps my skin clear, soft and hydrated.

Every one or two weeks I use Beauty Formulas Rejuvenating Glorious Mud Deep Cleansing Facial Mask. It works amazingly for uncloging and removing different bad stuff from the pores. Also for change I had Freeman Face Masks but unfortunately I run out of it :(

However I think I will go to the shop to buy another Freeman Mask because they are my favourite!

One trick with face masks from TimeWithYana. If you feel that pimple is on its way or it is alreade appeared, put a little bit of clay face mask on it and leave it like that overnight or for few hours and...pimple will disappear! Literally a life savour.

Of course, I'll be still using Garnier Micellar Water during winter. I mean, how you cannot like something that cleanses your skin and removing makeup at the same time? Also my skin feels and looks so nice after I'd used it. Moreover, Garnier Micellar Water has absolutely became my Holy Grail Product. I don't know why I like it that much, to be honest :D

But Garnier Micellar Water is absolutely awesome!

Nivea Pure&Natural Cleansing Toner is an important part of my morning routine. Nice refreshing toner. Also it has amazing floral
scent that immediately wakes me up.

I think this is it!

For someone it'd be very small number of products, for others big. Everybody has their own choices and thoughts :)

Let me know in the comments down below which skincare products are your essentials in winter?
