A Little Bit Of Advices For Those Who Wear Glasses

Thursday, February 05, 2015

Hi hi!

Are you a bespectacled person? Because I am!

My vision got worse when I was around nine. Unfortunately, every other member of my family has this problem as well and I knew that in particular moment of my life it will hit me too, so as you can guess, I didn't feel very disappointed or sorry for myself.

Of course, having any eyesight problems is not great and on other hand I wouldn't call them horrific(although this opinion has a certain limit too, haha). What's more, I'd like to say that it is kinda advantage. I can be in my world and see everything from my view, but then put on glasses or contact lenses and live as normal person.

My biggest phobia of all time is going to doctors. I don't understand why because I didn't have any terrible experience with them, however something about medicine and hospitals makes me shaky. So for years now I have been too scared to go to oculist and finally got my bloody glasses.

This winter I decided to stop it. Not only because I wanted to overfight my fear, but every month my eyesight was going on lower and lower level. Ironically, lol.

Yes, you can congratulate me! I calmed down, went to doctor, discovered how bad my eyesight actually is and listened to weird stuff the doc told me about my eyes. Then it was time to buy my first glasses! I was freaking excited. Let me explain a little bit. Sunglasses or any type of glasses are kinda my addiction and I'm dying to wear them 24/7, but now I can do it.

If you're feeling the same, don't be afraid. It's actually really cool.

Firstly, you need to pick up frame that suits you. After that choose one pair, which you like the most and would comfortably wear during the day. If you're doubting between two pairs, ask random people in the shop what they think about them! That might help. For example, it has worked very well for me :)

Secondly, if there are any people who bully you because of glasses, well, don't worry about that a lot. Do your job, don't be afraid to experiment with your style and appearance. Frankly speaking, (please keep my secret) I instantly loved myself a little bit more at the minute I'd worn the glasses. Wait, I have broken the rules, haven't I?

Finally, have fun with makeup and try new looks. Now eyeshadows and eyeliner are the most used in my routine! Another big role plays the brow game. Girl, define them as cool as possible. Personally I use darker colour from Essence Brow Stylist Set and Real Techniques Eyeliner Brush to make my brows pop. Also with the help of this two goodies I fill my eyelashes line so it seems full, voluminous and nice.

Then don't forget about contouring those cheekbones and add great lippy. Good job, you are ready to rule the world ;)

Do you wear glasses? If so, where do you like to put accents on your beautiful face?

Peace, love, bubble gum, Yana x

  2. I am exactly the same with the dentist! My eyesight is awful so I've worn glasses since I was nine and they're my safety blanket - whenever I wear contact lenses I feel naked. A strong brow, a fierce winged line with a generous amount of mascara plus a good contour are my go to! It's also good to invest in a good setting powder as I find concealer LOVES to settle on the nose of the glasses.

Your glasses suit you so much! x

  4. I totally agree with you, Yana! When choosing the right eyeglasses for you, you should look for the one that will suit your style, and will make you feel comfy while wearing it. And trying on a new makeup combination that will complement your new eyeglass is only right, if doing so will help you be more confident wearing those new specs. Anyway, those are really great tips, so thank you so much for sharing!
