Red Lipstick Means Victory
Tuesday, June 09, 2015I have been scrolling through my blog a lot lately and, boom, though there are tons of posts saying I am a huge lipstick fan, but zero posts about my favourite red lippies What a shame! Need to correct that.
My first such lipstick purchase was Maybelline ColorSensational Lady Red. It is a beautiful bright red colour that I do not wear as often as I wish I did. The reason is pretty simple. Finish of this lipstick is rather glossy which for me is a massive no-factor when it comes to red lips. Additionally I can't call it a long-lasting one. Moreover Lady Red smudges easily, leaving awkward marks in a lips area as well as on bottles or cups. Not nice at all. One rule I have made for myself: when I am rocking red, I must be confident it won't end up somewhere else than my lips. If I wasn't so obsessed with the shade, I would probably throw this lipstick in the back of my makeup bag and forget forever about it. Ouch.
Moving on to a more positive note, I would like to introduce my gorgeous buddy Frambourjoise. Yup, another Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick by Bourjois. If you didn't know I swore by Nude-ist, lipstick from the same range, so it was not a suprice for me to fall in love with this lipstick too. Ideal matte that does not dry your lips. What more can you ask for? Frambourjoise has a muted red colour that can be easily worn for a everyday makeup. At least I decided it to be a part of my daily looks. Still don't know if that is legal, haha. But I quess I am just more red/nude lipstick kind of girl. I think pinky or peachy shades look strange on me.
What is your go to red lipstick? Would love to hear that x
Have a nice day, bye bye :)

Lovely lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteI would probably throw away the first one to be honest. :)
My go to red lipstick is The Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish in 107. I just think it is the perfect red shade for me. Also the range has a variety of red shades as well as nudes and pinks.
They are matt lipsticks and very long lasting, and not the least bit drying.
I'd totally recommend them to a friend.

Well, I am not throwing it away as I can still use this lipstick for some interesting photo composition haha :D
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I heard about that Rimmel lipstick. I was thinking yes or now for giving it a try as its colour looks stunning on pictures on the Internet. If you recommend it for a friend, then I'm jumping on the bandwagon!
I am also a big fan of red lipstick! My go-to is MAC's Russian Red (and then the Kate Moss matte red as a top up. They are super similar!) I also picked up a gorgeous dark red from Maybelline but I cannot remember what it is called at all. Either way, it's stunning!
