I'm back today with another lipstick review. What a huge surprise, right? April simply happens to be one of those months when my lipstick obsession hits its highest level, LOL. This time, I actually bought it in a shade, which isn't really my cup of tea, so let's see how it went down.
If you read My High-street Makeup Must-haves, you'll know that I love like love love Rimmel lipsticks. However, there's one range I was yet to try out - Kate Nude Collection. Even though you could hear people raving about these nude lipsticks from every beauty corner on the Net, I somehow managed to ignore their existence. Now, after almost one year since a release, I think it's about time I got my hands on Rimmel Kate Moss nude lippies.
Before I jump into talking about the one I got, I need to say that the baby pink packaging with white Kate signature on the lid is absolutely the cutest thing EVER. You would instantly get +10 points to girliness if this was possible in our cruel, without magical points world . Anyway.
There are five gorgeous nude shades available, going from very pale peachy to dark brown with a berry undertone. I decided to start with #42, a beautiful light pink nude and the second one in the range.
As soon as I swatched it on my hand in the shop, not going to lie, I was very excited to see the way it would look on the lips. AND here is the main problem: I love the colour in the tube... but not when it's actually on my lips. If I'm having one of those 'hello smokey eyes, haven't seen you in a while' kind of days, then yes, I will reach for this lipstick. In other occasions, it proudly stands on the shelf collecting the dust. Basically, sad story.
On the other hand, I can't say anything bad about the lipstick itself. It has a nice hydrating formula, amazing I'd even say strong scent and, of course, sheer finish. The only downside I've come across is the fact that sometimes I had to blot my lips with a finger after applying this lipstick because it would keep collecting in the lip wrinkles.
In other words, Rimmel Kate Nude Collection definitely worth a try. I'm now tempted to go to the shop and purchase the right shade!
Have you got any lipsticks from this collection? What do you think about them? Let me know in the comments x
