The Perfect Powder

Saturday, June 06, 2015

Hello there!
I have a combination skin type. In winter it is mostly dry, whilst in summer it is oily. Therefore I now tend to avoid using foundation on a regular basis as no matter how good it is, it usually makes my face looking kind of gross and cakey. But unfortunately spots or blemishes do not stop attacking my face, so I need a bit of coverage anyway.

In this case, my lifesaver has become Lancome Teint Miracle powder. Frankly speaking, I used to hate powders, because I felt like they all are just another type of flour that women somehow put on their beautiful faces. Why? Powders didn't make sense for me. I know, I know, I was wrong. Very wrong.

As soon as I tried out Teint Miracle powder I understood few things:
a) It makes me less oily-looking (especially forehead)
b) The coverage of this powder is strong enough to hide any of my imperfections!

Also adding concealer on spots and... Voila! My perfect base for summer. Light yet does the required job amazingly.

Talking about Lancome's powder itself, I can say only positive words. Oh no, wait, there is one irritating thing. It has reflective case that gets dirty very quickly. Yup, that is it. Bear with me, I just fell head over the heels in love with this powder.

And by the way, for getting the anti-shine effect I use a makeup brush for applying, but if my main aim is to conceal imperfection, I find the sponge that comes with it actually pretty handy for this slightly hard mission.

What is your favourite powder at the moment?

Hope you enjoyed today's post! Have a lovely weekend and I will talk to you soon x

  1. This sounds great - the flour comment made me laugh! I always use some form of powder, particularly on my oily patches and I've found a couple that work but I really want to try this after reading your review! x

  2. Wow, it is not as expensive as I thought it would be! It's such a shame they don't have a wide shade range. I have a love/hate relationship with powders, because I feel they can be just as cakey looking as liquid foundation - though maybe that's just the way I apply it! x

    1. I use BB creams on "good skin days" or basically when I need just a bit of a coverage.
